Where is Taivavao ?
Update Mars 2023 : Taivavao est actuellement en Guadeloupe et bientôt à Carriacou pour passer la saison cyclonique en sécurité, pendant que son équipage rentrera en métropole pour refaire la caisse de bord ! Cette carte n’a pas été mise à jour depuis quelques mois… mais elle raconte nos 2 premières années à bord de Taivavao !

Taivavao Sailing Studios
Je suis Céline, capitaine de Taivavao et photographe depuis plus de 13 ans. Mon camp de base est en Atlantique près d’Hossegor mais avec mon amoureux (très discret :), notre résidence principale est, depuis quasi 3 ans, un voilier de 10m50 actuellement dans la mer des Caraïbes après une traversée de l’Atlantique début 2022.
Sur Taivy (son petit nom), on prend notre temps, on rencontre, on partage, on joue, on regarde, on écoute, on philosophe, on plonge, on peint, on prend l’apéro, on apprend et on rêve… même si la réalité nous rattrape bien vite puisqu’une bonne partie du temps est consacré à la navigation, au rangement, au nettoyage et au bricolage…
A bord de Taivavao, je fais aussi de la photo, des massages, de l’aquarelle et de la musique, d’où l’idée d’appeler cette page Taivavao Studios, pour faire un tout-en-un !
🇬🇧I’m Céline, Taivavao’s Captain and photographer for more than 13 years. My basecamp is on the Atlantic Ocean, in Hossegor but my home (with my very discrete lover), is a sailing vessel of 35 foots for almost 3 years now… The boat is currently in the Caribbean Sea after an Atlantic crossing in early 22.
On “Taivy”, we try to take our time, to meet, to share, to watch, to listen, to play, to philosophize, to dive, to paint, to take the apéro, to learn and to dream… even if the reality is more navigating, working, tiding, cleaning and moaning :)
On board Taivavao, i continue to do photo sessions, i juste develop a new massage activity, i’m watercoloring, and playing music… that’s why this website is now called Taivavao “Studios” !!
TAI VAVĀ O
En tahitien, TAI veut dire la direction de la mer et VAVAO la médiation. TAIVAVAO, c’est la mer qui enfle et se brise sur le récif, créant des eaux calmes après ce récif et jusqu’à la rive. L’impermanence entre lagon et houle fulgurante représente bien la vie à bord ! Et puis VAVĀ, c’est aussi le son du vent, de la pluie, de l’eau et de la mer… extravagance de musiciens…!
🇬🇧In Tahitian, TAI means the way to the sea, and VAVAO the mediation. TAIVAVAO, means a sea that is swelling and breaking on the reef, but between the reef and shore, it is calm and the rocks are uncovered. The idea of impermanence between the lagoon and the striking swell is a good representation of the onboard life ! Moreover, VAVĀ, means also the sounds of the wind, the rain, the sea and water echoes… musicians’ whims… !
